Throw away question but maybe the flist knows: Was Blaise ever described as being black/dark skinned in HP canon? Or is this just something the movies put in there and then it just stuck as movie!canon/fanon?

ETA: Resolved! Thanks everyone :) My canon purist curiosities have been satisfied.

It was definitely book canon. I remember reading about it.

Ah thanks! I was hoping to get a specific canon reference/citation :)

He was described as "dark skinned with high cheekbones" but was never actually given an explicit race in canon.

Definitely black in canon (and I'm pretty sure specifically black as opposed to 'dark-skinned'). However certain white-washing art portrays him >:(
