Re-tagging [Jun. 25th, 2013|03:58 am]

So! I just found out that since the last time I looked, LJ has developed a way to delete/rename tags. This is very awesome. I've now deleted the tags that were "accidental" or had gone out of use. Now that the basic cleaning is done I'm thinking of revamping my tag system a bit, just to make things a little neater since I have so MANY tags. Initially, I thought of doing:

Fandom: Name
Paring: X/Y
Character: First Last

However, I feel like with posts with multiple tags of this sort (mainly rec lists but others too) this could get bulky and confusing. I could mark it as:

F: Name
P: X/Y
C: First Last

Somehow I don't like this less explicit form. I'm probably being stupid becasue um I'm not really that popular for tons of people t go browsing through my tags but...IDK. What do you think would be better/easier/more practical/whatever? Anything else? Should I just leave my het/slash/gen/fem tags just hanging out there of should I put !het/!slash/!gen/!fem so they rise to the top of the list?

Yea, I like the more explicit form more. But when I look at the posts which already have six or more lines of tags at the top and think that that amount will probably double if the longer tags...eeep.

I don't like the idea of putting the "!" mark there, but it would make the tags more visible.
