It's been a really busy few days so I didn't get to read through as much of the yuletide archive as I was hoping to, but I wanted to throw out some recs before the reveals.
Moonstruck (1689 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: Impact (2008)
Characters: Roland Emerson, Alex Kittner
This was my wonderful gift-fic :D Roland was just charming in this, completely oblivious and yet quite perceptive at the same time. His interaction with Alex seemed very true to cannon and there was just a bit of UST there, which of course, is a kink of mine with these two.

Fandom: Jolene (Song) - Dolly Parton
Pairings: Jolene/Man, Man/Narrator
This story play with the idea of the Narrator in this song being a guy. I found the idea great, firstly because I love slash *cough* and secondly because it puts a bit of an extra flavor into the song and the story IMO. The writing itself if very nice and the story is both hopeful and heartbreaking. A very interesting Jolene here too.
This is America (1016 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: The Americans
Characters: Paige Jennings, Matthew Beeman
This a very insightful look into Paige and Mathew and the parallels and differences between their relationships with their parents. Paige's POV was very well done here.

Fandom: Legally Blonde (2001)
Parings: Vivian Kensington/Elle Woods
Characters: Vivian Kensington, Elle Woods, Enid Hoops
I have a lot of issues with this movieand Elle as a character, but I think this story did a very nice job giving Elle quite a bit of depth -- something that I think the movie set out to do but eventually failed. The paring is hot and aww Vivian is wonderful girly and awkward and REAL. Enid is wonderful as well. There is some great discussion in this fic on being a lesbian and discovering that you are/might be one.
Shy Gazelle (1205 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: Brideshead Revisited (20A08)
Paring: Sebastian Flyte/Charles Ryder
Canonically bitter sweet. Based on a scene in the movie, but can fit into the book-canon as well. It's sad and sweet and lovely and just oh this paring <3
