|Ten Days Meme - Day 5
||[Feb. 15th, 2015|04:35 pm]
Day 1 - Ten random facts about yourself
Day 2 - Nine things you do every day
Day 3 - Eight things that annoy you
Day 4 - Seven fears/phobias
Day 5 - Six songs that you're addicted to
Day 6 - Five things you can't live without
Day 7 - Four memories you won't forget
Day 8 - Three words you can't go a day without
Day 9 - Two things you wish you could do
Day 10 - One person you can trust
This was hard, mainly because at any given time I have a LOT of songs that I really love and to single out just six is hard. But at the same time, there are usually only a couple or so that I am REALLY obsessed with more than all others at any given point and these can change quickly. The point being that this shortlist is a little arbitrary and would probably look different if I did it a month later. So, take it for what it is, I guess.
1. Promise Me - Dead By April (regular and acoustic versions)
2. Without You - Breaking Benjamin
3. Никогда мы не будем братьями (We Will Never Be Brothers) - Virgis Pupšys, Jaronimas Milius, Kęstutis Nevulis, Gintautas Litinskas
4. My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion*
5. Тебе це може вбити (This Could Kill You) - С.К.А.Й (SKAI)
6. Романс (Romance) - Сплин (Splean)
*This is that one song that, while I go hotter-colder on it from time to time, it has always been a "top choice" for me. I've loved this song for years and I feel like I'll never stop loving it.
I remember when My Heart Will Go On came out.. I was a kid and had been deemed too young by my parents to see the movie, but all of my friends had and wanted to roleplay scenes from Titanic. I felt left out, so I asked my sister to teach me the song. Obviously my friends didn't really know the lyrics (French 8-y-o rarely speak English fluently!) and just kind of hummed but I could sing it so I felt more part of the group after that. Lol. It's a really good song.
I saw it in theaters when it came out :D I was also like around 8. OMG. I was so obsessed, which kinda weirds me out now, because it's like...8-year-olds and romance? What? What could an 8-year-old get out of a romance movie? A lot apparently lol.
Oh, I was totally obsessed with it too. I get it has a lot to do with mimetism too, since my sister loved it, and I was pretty impressionable, the kind of little sister who follows the big sister's lead. Looking back it saddens me a bit how eager I was, as a kid, to show that I wadn't a kid. If only we respected kids a bit more as human beings and didn't dismiss them as ignorant in so many situations, maybe I wouldn't have rushed so much? Idk.
