Ten Days Meme - Day 10 [Feb. 20th, 2015|04:07 pm]
[Tags|, ]

Day 1 - Ten random facts about yourself
Day 2 - Nine things you do every day
Day 3 - Eight things that annoy you
Day 4 - Seven fears/phobias
Day 5 - Six songs that you're addicted to
Day 6 - Five things you can't live without
Day 7 - Four memories you won't forget
Day 8 - Three words you can't go a day without
Day 9 - Two things you wish you could do
Day 10 - One person you can trust

Woo last day!

One person I can trust: my mom. I know a lot of people feel it's uncool or immature to list a parent (especially, for some reason, your mother) as a best friend or someone you have something more than a loving-but-kind-of-distant relationship with. But, honestly, that's kind of sad. After all, no matter how close I am to my BFF or any of my other friends, my mom is the one who has always known everything about me since I was a kid, longer than I have known any of my other friends. She's always posited herself as a friend as well as my mother. I was always encouraged to share things with her and to trust her. This isn't to say we don't have some issues and there are a couple of things my BFF knows that she doesn't, but there are a lot more things that he doesn't know that she does. And I know that out of all the people in the world, she's most likely to have my best interests in mind. And you can't have trust without that basic assumption.

i agree so hard re; my own mother. and i too think it's sad when people view close and loving relationships with parents and siblings as "lame" etc.
