Fanfic Year In Review stolen from Kat
Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, less than you thought, or about what you predicted?
More, I think. I wrote 32 (I think?) fics in all and that’s a hell of an impressive number. This is as compared to the (about) 26 fics I wrote last year.
Where did you publish/archive your stories?
Mostly LJ but I also posted on FF.net, AO3, and a couple of other places.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2011?
Just about anything I wrote for this Yuletide, but especially Things Fall Apart. I didn’t think I’d actually work up the inspiration or nerve to write for that one. Also, You I Love, to which I was just introduced and the Gay Pirates song and….agh, just the entire Yuldetide list lol.
As for parings, Albus/Scorpius. I didn’t think I’d ever write it before I did.
What’s your favorite story this year?
That I wrote or someone else? If someone else, than probably The Other Side of the Coin by eeyore9990. It was just such a lovely discovery. But there were so many wonderful fics this year that it’s hard to chose. Ok, I lied. Nothing compares to Stars in the winter sky by http but I'm trying to stick to English Speaking Fandom here :p
Out of the ones I wrote? Before the Storm-- I’m incredibly proud of it. Or maybe Whiskey in the Snow.
Okay, NOW your most popular story.
Um, well, I'm a bit lazy to go and count up all the reviews on all the stories, but an educated guess says A Product of Circumstances.
Story most underappreciated by the universe?
Before the Storm out of mine anyways.
Story that could have been better?
Making Good News. This fandom deserves so much better of a story than what I managed there, honestly.
Ok, this gives me pause since I don't really write that much sexy!fic to begin with. Interesting enough, I would have to point to a femslash fic: First Times.
Most fun story?
Oh, I had lots of fun writing a lot of things. I couldn't pic, honeslty.
Story with single sweetest moment?
Haha, I'm not sure. But out of mine, probably Before the Storm.
The story that made you cry?
Hah...I cry over fics all the time...
Hardest story to write?
Before the Storm It was soooo long and het and...you get the idea.
Easiest story to write?
There were a few drabble-esque fics that sort of wrote themselves :) I do have to mention how easily Whiskey in the Snow came to me give the quality of writing.
Most overdue story?
I still haven't finished Facades and every year I tell myself I will and I never do...
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Yuletide fandoms tend to be risks ;) Everytime I write something in Russian -- which I did this year too :) -- I take a risk. That's certainly enough risks for the year lol.
Do you have any fanfic goals for the New Year?
Oh mannnn, I always have sooo many. Most don't actually get accomplished though :(
